Spring has officially arrived in Florida!
It is still a tad too cold (for me) to hit the beach, but I have enjoyed sitting outside and soaking up some sun while reading!
I have decided April will be dedicated to sharing all my back logged reviews. Those who follow me on Goodreads may have noticed that my ‘To Be Reviewed’ list keeps getting longer and longer. These books will be covered this month, so you can expect mysteries, fantasy, and young adult!
I also plan on sharing a few outdoor reading pictures. Please share your own and let me know what book you’re reading this month!
Last month was all about the Lunar Chronicles. I took some time to reread the first three books in the series: Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress; and shared my original reviews of the stories! I did not reread the fourth book, Fairest, a prequel novel, despite sharing the original review.
March is dedicated to finishing the last two books in the series, Winter and Stars Above. You can also expect a couple of reblogged reviews of Lunar Chronicles short stories.
But don’t worry; it will not be another month of just YA Science Fiction. I have a back log of audiobooks that also need to be shared!
I also decided to work on my towering stack of writing books. I am staring Writer with a Day Job today! I don’t plan to have it finished and reviewed this month but you never know!
What do you have planned for March? Are you reading nonfiction? Fiction? Are you obsessed with YA Science Fiction too?
Good morning fellow readers and happy February! It’s time for the monthly ‘What to Expect’ post.
So what type of book reviews can you look forward to in February? I honestly have no idea because I’ve been a genre jumper for the last couple of weeks. For those who have never experienced this frustrating situation it goes sorta like this…
What would I like to read today?
A sci-fi book? Oh yeah! I love sci-fi! But maybe not right now…
A romance novel? Yuck. But it is the month of love so maybe I should….
Oh, how about a YA?! (nose crinkles in thought) Maybe….
A mystery? Yeah! A good mystery! Eh, I don’t know…
It’s INFURIATING! I just want to sit down with a good book that can keep my attention for more than a few minutes! So we all get to live on the edge this month, wondering what review will turn up next.
The one thing you can be certain of is I will be participating in my friend Liz’s #nerdslove challenge on Instagram. Check out my daily posts here and be sure to check out Liz’s account for the topic list and her nerdy posts.
That’s about it from me. What books do you have in the works this month? Anyone binge reading romance books? Anyone reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to prep for the movie release? Let me know!
Happy December fellow readers! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends, and great food!
December is here (though most days still feel like October here in Florida) which means you can expect reviews of Christmas themed mysteries! Y’all know I’m a sucker for holiday themed stories….
I don’t have much else planned on the review front this month. I’ll be crazy busy, just like the rest of you, Christmas shopping and enjoying all my favorite aspects of the season. I will be revisiting the Holiday Loves and Quirks post series from last year (check out the December 2014 archives) and sharing my favorite family traditions.
It’s going to be a fun month! Happy Holidays everyone!
Hi everybody! Sorry I was missing in action the last few weeks. Halloween, family stuff, and a much needed vacation had me off-the-grid.
But I’m back and I hope you had a wonderful Halloween full of creepy costumes and plenty of candy! I sure did, and I had a blast sharing a few witchy book reviews with you last month. I managed to get most of my reading list up, but we are going to have to wait a bit for a review of Jackie Smith’s After Death. Hopefully, you’ll be reading it this month!
Here’s what to expect for November: plenty of reviews on the many audio books I listen to during my work commute! They have been stacking up and need to be shared!
You can also expect to hear about my favorite holiday! Thanksgiving is on the way and I look forward to sharing my family traditions!
November is also National Novel Writing Month! I plan to provide a weekly update on my attempt to write my own novel! So expect to hear ALL about NaNoWriMo. Let me know if you’re writing too!
It’s going to be a fun, busy month but I wouldn’t have my November any other way! Happy Reading!
My favorite month of the year has arrived and you should see all the reviews that await you! MWAHAHAHA! (cue the creepy music…)
So what can you expect this month? Lots and lots of paranormal cozy mysteries. What can I say? I love mysteries involving ghosts and witches.
I plan on reviewing Juliet Blackwell’s entire Withcraft Mystery series, which follows the adventures of sweet witch, Lily Ivory and her potbelly pig/goblin, Oscar.
The third installment of Jackie Smith’s Cemetery Tours series comes out this month and you will see a review! I’m looking forward to After Death. Ghost hunting and a circus….oooooo!
Also, I will be reviewing one non paranormal novel this month: Jones Lee’s A Time to Live. This amazing friend has been beyond patient while waiting for this review and I’m excited to talk about the crazy adventures of snarky Carter Gabel!
So grad a pumpkin spice latte and your favorite candy because it is going to be a fun month!
I started my mid day shift schedule at work in June and just couldn’t find time to get anything done. I wasn’t reading, writing, or posting which did not make for a very happy Lindsay. I had to work at having a life outside of my job.
I focused on my writing in July and sent the first draft of my non-fiction out to beta readers. I also finished a detailed outline for my NaNoWriMo novel and started working on a survival thriller I’ve put off for two years. The month was a success!
August was spent coupling my writing with more reading time. Audio books filled my commute to and from work, I spent my breaks with my nose in my Nook, and I started taking a book to bed with me again. August was also a success!
So what can you expect for September? More posts! I realized yesterday that both my sites have been pretty quiet over the last few months as I tried to regain the creative side of my life. So September will be full of reviews on the books I read in August! It may have taken me a few months but I’m finally giving some priority to my favorite things!
What do you have planned this month?
You’ve probably wondered where I’ve been the last few weeks. You may even have worried that I was kidnapped or stuck in a dark room with no books (I pray I’m NEVER stuck in such a place).
Don’t worry. I am fine and I SWEAR I’VE BEEN READING! I just haven’t had the time to sit down and post my reviews because I was a tad busy with a few fun projects last month. (Click here if you want to know more about said projects 😉 go ahead, I know you’re curious!) I have a number of books waiting patiently to be reviewed and you can check out my Goodreads for a sneak peak. But that’s all I’m committing too at the moment!
I haven’t managed to read any of the books I have lined up the last few months, so August is all about winging it old school! Well… not all because I am participating in a review tour of Laura Lee’s Identity Theft. I definitely think my fellow reviewers should join in on the review tour! There are a number of spots still available, just click here!
I promise to get you more reviews in August! Hope your summer is going swimmingly and you have plenty of time for beach reading!
What To Expect: JULY
Well…it’s probably quite obvious by the number of reviews I posted in June that I’m STILL adjusting to my new day-shift schedule. UGH!! 13 hours of my day are dedicated to exercise, work, and my commute back and forth, which leaves far less reading time than I’m accustomed to. Thank the Lord for audiobooks! Guys, I haven’t even made it to the beach this summer! That should be considered a crime against humanity. (DEEP BREATH, DEEP BREATH) But, July is a brand new month and I have a new trusty planner to help me navigate this new schedule!
So what should you expect to see in July?! the same thing you should have seen in June!
1. A Time to Live by Jonas Lee
2. Akarnae by Lynette Noni
3. Identity Theft by Laura Lee
Don’t worry! The reviews will keep coming. I love doing this too much to throw in the towel! Happy reading this July and hopefully we’ll all find time to hit the beach and get a little sand between the pages!
What to Expect: JUNE
Today is June 1st and like most people I am shocked that 2015 is zipping by so quickly! I am still adjusting to my new schedule and workload but am doing better with keeping up with my reading. June promises more posts and here is what to expect.
I have a few books that I have needed to read and review for some very patient friends. The following are three you will definitely hear about this month!
1. A Time to Live by Jonas Lee
2. Akarnae by Lynette Noni
3. Identity Theft by Laura Lee
Plus, there will still be a few mysteries left over from May!
Thank you all for being so patient with me the last few months. Things here at Sand Between the Pages are getting back to normal, so be ready for plenty of reviews coming your way! Here’s to summer and lazy beach days spent reading!
